Teaneck Armory Job Fair serves hundreds of New Jersey Veterans

Teaneck, NJDecember 1, 2009  -  The G.I. Go Fund joined with OritaniBank Charitable Foundation to host
the Teaneck Armory Employment, Education, and Support Services Expo to assist transitioning veterans as well
as veterans of previous generations.  The event was held at the historic Teaneck Armory, where 80 exhibitors
were visited by more than 400 veterans.

The event, sponsored by OritaniBank Charitable Foundation, connected veterans with employers like PSE&G,
Prudential, and NJ Transit.  Organizations like NJ Shares were there to offer support services for veterans in
need, while many educational institutions distributed information about degrees programs and enrollment
information.

“The community is reaching out to our veterans,” said G.I. Go Fund Deputy Director Alexander Manis.  “They
are here to offer new opportunities and hope to veterans and families during these economically challenging
times and we, as an organization, are extremely grateful for that.”

The employers that participated in the expo were Oritani Bank, New Jersey State Police, PSE&G, Prudential, NJ
Department of Corrections, Port Authority of NY and NJ, DISH Network, TD Bank, NY State Troopers, NJ
Transit, Cintas Corporation, U.S. Customs & Border Patrol, Johnson & Johnson, Quest Diagnostics, US
Department of Housing and Urban Development, Crestron Electronics, AlliedBarton, UMDNJ, Armed Forces
Benefit Association, Parsons Corporation, Shore , Insulation, Inc., Primerica, United States Department of
Labor Office of Federal Contact Compliance Programs, Firmenich Inc., Pearson, Graybar Electric Co., United
Water, Shoprite of Passaic (Paulison Ave.), Cambridge Security, Prepaid Legal, US Army Recruiting Station,

The Educational Institutions and trade schools that participated in the expo were Stevens Institute of
Technology, Felician College, NJ Guard Training Academy, Mobile Technical Training, Bergen Community
College, Berkeley College, NJASCU, Farleigh Dickenson University, Monmouth University, Fox Institute of
Business, Bloomfield College, University of Phoenix, Centenary College
Lincoln Educational Services, Institute for Therapeutic Massage, Caldwell College, Peirce College, DeVry
University, Mobile Technical Training, Eastwick Education, Drexel, Thomas Edison State College.

The government agencies and organizations that participated were the Bergen County Vet Services, Small
Business Administration, VA NJ Health Care, NJ Talking Book and Braille Center, Wounded Warrior Project,
New Jersey Department of Military and Veteran Affairs, SCORE, Social Security Administration, NJ Captioned
Telephone Service, CACI, Council on Compulsive Gambling, NJ HMFA, Office of U.S. Senator Robert
Menendez, SW Unlimited LLC., NJ Shares, Operation Chillout, The Congressional Glaucoma Association,
Edison Job Corp Academy, Internal Revenue Service.
